The piston is a compressed component in a Pneumatic Cylinder (made of 6063-T5 aluminum tube). To prevent gas leakage from the two chambers of the piston, a piston sealing ring is provided. The wear-resistant ring on the piston can improve the guidance of the cylinder, reduce the wear of the piston sealing ring, and lower the frictional resistance. Wear resistant rings are generally made of materials such as polyurethane, polytetrafluoroethylene, and synthetic resin cloth. The width of the piston is determined by the size of the sealing ring and the length of the required sliding components. The sliding part is too short, which may cause early wear and jamming.
 
The leakage inside and outside the cylinder is mainly caused by eccentric installation of the piston rod, insufficient lubricating oil, wear or damage of the sealing ring and sealing ring, impurities inside the cylinder, and scratches on the piston rod. Therefore, when there is internal and external leakage in the cylinder, the center of the piston rod should be readjusted to ensure the coaxiality between the piston rod and the cylinder; Regularly check the lubricator to ensure good lubrication of the cylinder; If there are impurities in the gas cylinder, they should be removed in a timely manner; When there are scratches on the piston seal, it should be replaced with a new one. When the sealing ring and sealing ring are worn or damaged, they should be replaced in a timely manner.

More precisely, it should be the lubrication between the piston ring and the cylinder wall, as the piston and cylinder are in slight contact. 70% of the wear occurs in boundary friction and mixed friction, which is the friction during the start-up process. When the seal and cylinder wall are partially filled with lubricant, mixed friction is formed. At this point, as the speed increases, the friction coefficient is still rapidly decreasing. When the piston speed reaches a certain value, an effective lubricating film is formed to achieve fluid lubrication. The lubrication method is splashing, but excess oil must be scraped off through the piston ring. In addition, when honing the cylinder, many small pits are formed on the surface of the cylinder liner to store oil, which is beneficial for lubrication.
