How to choose pneumatic cylinder piston rod ?

Hard chromium piston rod: Stainless steel piston rods are mainly used for hydraulic and pneumatic, engineering machinery, and automotive manufacturing piston rods. The piston rod is processed by rolling. Due to the residual compressive stress left on the surface, it helps to close surface microcracks and hinders the propagation of corrosion. This improves the corrosion resistance of the surface and can delay the generation or propagation of fatigue cracks, thereby enhancing the fatigue strength of the cylinder rod. By rolling forming, a cold work hardening layer is formed on the rolling surface, reducing the elastic-plastic deformation of the contact surface of the grinding pair, thereby improving the wear resistance of the cylinder rod surface and avoiding burns caused by grinding. After rolling, the surface roughness value decreases, which can improve the compatibility performance.
At the same time, it reduces friction damage to the sealing ring or sealing components during the movement of the cylinder rod and piston, and improves the overall service life of the cylinder. Rolling process is an efficient and high-quality process measure. Taking the rolling head with a diameter of 160mm (45 steel seamless steel pipe) as an example, the rolling effect was verified. After rolling, the surface roughness of the cylindrical rod decreased from Ra3.2-6.3um before rolling to Ra0.4-0.8um, the surface hardness of the cylindrical rod increased by about 30%, and the fatigue strength of the cylindrical rod increased by 25%. The service life of the oil cylinder has increased by 2 to 3 times, and the efficiency of the rolling process is about 15 times higher than that of the grinding process. The above data indicates that the rolling process is efficient and can greatly improve the surface quality of cylindrical rods.
